Raising Money for the Graffiti Camp for Girls
Girl Mobb
Originally from Cincinnati, Girl Mobb made Oakland her home in 2008. Since then she has contributed dozens of mural-scale public works both locally and across the country. She holds a BFA in Painting from Academy of Art University, San Francisco. Her ultimate vision is a world full of female perspectives and their creations on the streets and in public spaces.
Responding to the dearth of female perspectives in the current street arts scene, particularly among muralists, Girl Mobb also founded the Graffiti Camp for Girls.
Graffiti Camp for Girls
Founded in 2017, Graffiti Camp for Girls is a nonprofit organization which provides a range of programming and mentoring experiences to build the confidence and skills in young women creating large-scale spray paint murals. Each camp culminates in a completed mural by its participants.
Since its inception, the camp has run over two dozen classes and workshops in the Bay Area, across the United States, and even in international locales.
Box Truck Mobile Classroom Fundraiser
This fundraiser will enable the Graffiti Camp for Girls to become a mobile organization, allowing them to expand their class and workshop offerings to underserved communities throughout Northern California and beyond.
